This unit has been specifically designed to facilitate 'Self Escape' for the Coal Mining Industry

Quick Change Over Station

  1. The unit that has been designed to facilitate 'Self Escape' in the event of an emergency
  2. It is a transitional station that offers the miners a safe area to rest, recover and exchange SCSR units in a non toxic environment while evacuating a mine
  3. Coupled with the VOX powerless scrubbing system provides up to 9 hours of breathable air when operating in 100% stand alone mode
  4. It's the first of its kind in the Mining Industry and will enhance the level of safety for the coal face of operations
  5. Food, water, communication devices and first aid kits can be stored in the units
  6. The first level of safety is a filtration system that is connected to mine air. Whilst Mine Air is available and turned to the 'ON' position, the duration of air supply is virtually unlimited
  7. In the event that mine air fails the unit has a back up air system comprising of a number of compressed Air Cylinders
  8. Air from the cylinders is directed through the Carbon Dioxide Scrubber and released into the center change over area of the unit

Main Function

  1. Dry medical air cylinders replenish the O2 levels. The gas is directed through the CO2 scrubbing system
  2. The powerless scrubber uses Soda Lime to neutralize Carbon Dioxide build up.
  3. The unit is fitted with a removable storage rack that holds a quantity of Self Rescuers and can be configured to suit an individual mine's needs
  4. The Self Rescuers remain in the 'stand-by' mode until required

Air-lock Entry and Exit

  1. It is a transitional unit designed for walk through emergency situations
  2. It has four inbuilt Air-locks that are positioned in a way that reduces the risk of hazardous gases from entering the main center section
  3. It is fitted with a storage system that stores Self Rescuers in a position so that the Inspection Viewing Site Glass is visible while on the rack. This enables a quick check to ensure the Self Rescuers are in a serviceable and safe condition
  4. In emergency, Miners enter the unit and remove their Self Rescuer and replace it with a new long Duration Self Rescuer from the rack
  5. Upon exiting, used Self Rescuers are placed in a disposal bin located inside the unit, next to the exit door
