This unit has been specifically designed to facilitate 'Self Escape' for the Coal Mining Industry
Quick Change Over Station
- The unit that has been designed to facilitate 'Self Escape' in the event of an emergency
- It is a transitional station that offers the miners a safe area to rest, recover and exchange SCSR units in a non toxic environment while evacuating a mine
- Coupled with the VOX powerless scrubbing system provides up to 9 hours of breathable air when operating in 100% stand alone mode
- It's the first of its kind in the Mining Industry and will enhance the level of safety for the coal face of operations
- Food, water, communication devices and first aid kits can be stored in the units
- The first level of safety is a filtration system that is connected to mine air. Whilst Mine Air is available and turned to the 'ON' position, the duration of air supply is virtually unlimited
- In the event that mine air fails the unit has a back up air system comprising of a number of compressed Air Cylinders
- Air from the cylinders is directed through the Carbon Dioxide Scrubber and released into the center change over area of the unit
Main Function
- Dry medical air cylinders replenish the O2 levels. The gas is directed through the CO2 scrubbing system
- The powerless scrubber uses Soda Lime to neutralize Carbon Dioxide build up.
- The unit is fitted with a removable storage rack that holds a quantity of Self Rescuers and can be configured to suit an individual mine's needs
- The Self Rescuers remain in the 'stand-by' mode until required
Air-lock Entry and Exit
- It is a transitional unit designed for walk through emergency situations
- It has four inbuilt Air-locks that are positioned in a way that reduces the risk of hazardous gases from entering the main center section
- It is fitted with a storage system that stores Self Rescuers in a position so that the Inspection Viewing Site Glass is visible while on the rack. This enables a quick check to ensure the Self Rescuers are in a serviceable and safe condition
- In emergency, Miners enter the unit and remove their Self Rescuer and replace it with a new long Duration Self Rescuer from the rack
- Upon exiting, used Self Rescuers are placed in a disposal bin located inside the unit, next to the exit door
